We are continuing to accept donatins and gifts for our 2008 Cause of the Year NewHouse. A shelter and support network for battered and abused women and their children. www.newhouseshelter.org This year over $5500 was raised from the Luxe-Kansas City's Wedding Showcase. We are currently accepting Christmas gifts for the children and women who have turned to NewHouse for shelter, bring your wrapped, unwrapped gifts or money and leave in our drop box!
This year the money raised wasl be donated "In Memory of Robin Kay Blount, Mother of Mathia McCann, a former Laura's Bride.
Robin was killed in 1998 by her estranged husband in 1998 leaving behind 4 children. Robin was the daughter of Doyne and Jeanie Blount, who are the 2008 Honorary Chairpersons for the Luxe Awards Saturday evening. Mathia oversaw the fashion show segments Saturday evening and Sunday.
